The Adventures of Mom and Flat Stanley

OK, so two weeks ago I get a paper home from my daughter's school informing us (the parents) that the kids have been reading a book called "The Adventures of Flat Stanley." OK cool right? NO wrong. Now the school sends home a piece of paper with Flat Stanley on it and wants the kids to give it to someone special to take Flat Stanley on Adventures and to top it off it is suggested that the special person take pictures with him. So you know of course I get elected to be that special person. Pissed at first about my election I did not want to take this Flat Stanley character anywhere with me. I don't even know what I'm suppose to get out of doing this but nevertheless this is going to reflect on my baby's grade average so I have to just suck it up and do it.
Flat Stanley found himself all around the town, attending the Yankees' Ticker Tape Parade, at the Knicks and Cavs game and he even atempted to assist me with walking the dog (that did not go well). It was rough for Flat Stanley and I but we made it through. From my brother giving him the finger to my dad saying "Oh God, not that damn Flat Stanley again." LOL the things you will do for your children. (SMH) I was not the only fool taking picture with Flat Stanley so it was not all that bad. I guess this is something to just laugh at, cause I know people were laughing. (Side bar of course I did not hand in the photo with my brother putting his middle finger in the picture, what kind of mom do you think I am?) LOL
