Knicks -vs- Cavs (This is going to be a long season)

I guess it was just wishful thinking for me to conger up thoughts that the Knicks pre-season would determine how well they would do in the regular season. Last night the Knicks faced the Cavs and all I can say is Lebron James.
With all of New York City on a high from the Yankees winning the World Series there was a bit of hope in the air that the winning streak would transfer over from one New York team to another.
Madison Square was packed last night with all types of celebrities and fans. Some to get a glimpse of the Lebron and Shaq duo and others die hard Knicks fans. During a break in the game, highlights of retired Knick players flashed on the screen. Goose bumps filled my arms watching all those great moments. Charles Oakley, Antony Mason and Larry Johnson were in attendance which also served as a reminder of the better days, but those better days seem to be so far behind the Knicks right now. Hopes of playoff contention don’t seem to be in the future either. With the Knicks losing to the Cavs their record is now 1-5 and they are in 14th place in the Eastern Conference.
I still have major questions about the decisions that are made by coach D'Antoni. He always seems to take players out the game when they get hot. Last night rookie Jordan Hill came off the bench and was playing great defense and scored two buckets his first few minutes on the floor, only to be taken out of the game moments later, and did not receive another second of playing time for the duration of the game. I really don’t understand the logic of the coaching, if something is working why not stick to it?
With the Knicks sites on a big name player next year and the restructure of the franchise it seems like this may just be a wasted season. I understand that next season is the primary focus, but can they at least win a few more games this year, keep the game competitive, and keep the fans excited for the season to come. My sites are set on seeing the Knicks have a Ticker Tape Parade one day, I just hope that day is not too far away. I guess I will have to wait for next season to find out, but no matter what I'm still riding with the Knicks and we will get that Ticker Tape one day and I will be there even if I'm 90 years old in a wheelchair!
